Years ago, whilst seeking quality care for my grandfather, my family and I encountered constant hurdles.
Agencies were dictating our choices, shuffling caregivers based on their convenience, which resulted in inconsistent care. If we found a caregiver that ticked our boxes, they were switched out, disturbing the bond my grandfather started to form.
Disappointed and frustrated with this system, I decided to change the narrative. That’s when the idea of PrimeCarers was born.
My name is James Bowdler, and I’m the founder of PrimeCarers, a platform designed to bridge the gap between families seeking personal care for their loved ones and professional independent caregivers.
After all these years, our prime focus remains – to ensure the process of securing quality care is simple, safe, and flexible.
We only allow carers with at least a year of professional care experience and an enhanced DBS certificate to join our platform. However, in practice, our average carer has 10 years of experience.
We leverage a thorough vetting process: executing comprehensive ID checks, evaluating their right-to-work status in the UK, and conducting professional interviews. All these measures are taken to ensure that our clients receive the best.
Unlike with agencies, we let our carers set their prices, which we believe is essential in recognising the value of their work. Through our platform, we charge a fee of 12.5% (inclusive of VAT), well below industry standards; this allows the earned income to reward the carer adequately.
Not only do we ensure the safety and transparency of hiring care, but we also take a personalised approach to matching families and carers. We use over 80 potential matching criteria to ensure the carers perfectly suit your requirements.
At PrimeCarers, our carers are much more than just professionals providing a service – they’re compassionate individuals, typically around age 45, who come to caregiving as a calling after pursuing other careers. This prior experience amply outlines their maturity, empathy and the wealth of life wisdom they bring to their roles. Our constantly updated client feedback system, with an impressive 4.49 average star rating, testifies to the high level of satisfaction and appreciation of our carers’ services.
