Kent’s Own Journeys Made Celebrates Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday Win

Kent-based business Journeys Made has been named a Small Business Sunday winner by retail entrepreneur, Theo Paphitis.

Jade Scammells, founder of Journeys Made, was one of six chosen weekly winners to receive a retweet or repost from Theo, sharing her business with his vast Twitter and Instagram following of over half a million. The initiative, started by Theo in 2010, now supports over 3,500 #SBS winners, helping to spotlight small businesses across the UK.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw that Journeys Made had won Small Business Sunday. It is great to have the support from Theo and the SBS team because it is tough trying to get more eyes on the business without spending a small fortune. Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about our small business to his following. I feel very lucky to have won this award and be part of this exclusive network of small businesses,” Jade said.

Jade tweeted Theo as part of the ‘Small Business Sunday’ challenge with a heartfelt explanation of her business, stating:

“I’m Jade and I founded Journeys Made in 2021. We are a handmade gift business specialising in unique travel keepsakes. What I love most about making our products is that they allow you to reminisce on your adventures, spark conversations and inspire others.”

Small business champion and Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman, Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.  My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Journeys Made every success.”

Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Theo should tweet on Twitter or do an Instagram post to him about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re‐tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS networking event and take advantage of the networking opportunities.

Journeys Made creates personalised travel keyrings and engraved destination tokens that help people preserve and cherish their travel memories.
