Eleven new apartments in Kent have helped developer Orbit reach a major milestone, and brought it one step closer to achieving its mission of building 12,000 new homes by 2020.
Finalising the build of the 11 shared ownership (part buy, part rent) homes at The Sycamores, in Tonbridge and Malling, also marked the completion of 5,000 new homes for the UK’s second largest developing housing association, since 2013.
Already owning and managing over 4,300 homes in Kent, Orbit is expected to build a further 1,100 homes across a range of homeownership and rental options in the county by 2020.
Maggie McCann, development director at Orbit, said: “Coming just over a year after completing on our 3,000th home, these new Kent homes mark a fantastic result for both us and our customers. With Orbit celebrating its 50th birthday next year, we are delighted to continue building more new homes for local people, and provide them with a range of housing options to suit their needs and aspirations.”
The high-quality one and two bedroom apartments form part of a larger mixed-tenure development in partnership between Orbit and Taylor Wimpey, offering a total of 40 homes for shared ownership and 40 homes for rent. In easy reach of the picturesque West Malling, The Sycamores offers all the benefits of village life whilst still being conveniently close to London, with regular trains arriving into Victoria in less than an hour.
With prices starting from just £71,200 for a 40% share, a new home at The Sycamores could be the perfect way to take your first step onto the housing ladder. To view the available homes and find out more about shared ownership, please visit www.orbithomes.org.uk/developments/the-sycamores/
