A new warehouse development providing much-needed industrial units has been completed, adding to Maidstone’s position as the Business Capital of Kent.
Brought forward by Goya Developments, Aylesford Business Park comprises seven new trade units designed to provide space for industrial and logistics warehousing.
Situated to the north west of Maidstone and adjacent to the M20, Aylesford Business Park forms part of the well-established Forstal Road Industrial Estate. The scheme offers flexible light industrial and trade warehouse units.
Andy Stothard from Goya Developments said, “We see Maidstone as a key strategic location within Kent, which is well placed to service demand from local and national and European businesses. It was the ideal location to develop Aylesford Business Park.”
Built to the highest energy efficiency standards, all units offer cutting edge energy saving technologies which enable a reduction of carbon emissions by 35%*. In addition, units have a BREEAM rating of ‘very good’, and EPC Rating A. Motion sensitive lighting, electric car charging points and photovoltaic panels further ensure the units meet sustainability targets.
Units range in size from 3,757 sq ft to 41,320 sq ft. Unit One has already been let to one of the UK’s leading wood finishing manufacturers, and the remaining six are now on the market as leasehold properties.
John Foster, Head of Regeneration and Economic Development for MBC, said: “This investment demonstrates the demand for high-quality, affordable warehousing solutions within the borough.
“As the county town of Kent, Maidstone is growing, and more capacity is needed for the many businesses looking to relocate or expand operations in the borough. The new units provide easy access to London and the continent via the M20 and the scheme represents a positive boost to the local economy outside of the town centre.”
