The Mall Maidstone has called for customers to get behind smaller and independent businesses in the town by buying their Christmas shopping locally and supporting Small Business Saturday on Saturday 3rd December 2016.
Small Business Saturday is a national campaign which was launched in the UK three years ago to support, inspire and promote small businesses. Last year shoppers in the UK spent £623m with small businesses on Small Business Saturday, an increase of 24% on 2014.
Andrew Davy, General Manager at The Mall Maidstone, commented: “We have several independent businesses in The Mall, including Panache Beauty, Flutterbyes, Chiappini’s, Zippy Stitch, County Cobbler, Candy Inc and many others. In fact, independent businesses make up 28% of our total tenants at The Mall Maidstone. Smaller independent retailers are the lifeblood of communities and we are very proud to have them in our Mall.
“Hopefully our customers will turn up in force on 3rd December and show independent companies in Maidstone that they are a valued and important part of our community. We are looking forward to a great day.”
