Kent law firm Brachers has appointed Employment Partner, Joanna Worby, as its new Managing Partner to head up the practice and take the successful firm forward.
Joanna said: “I am delighted to have been elected as Brachers’ Managing Partner. It’s a strong firm with an enviable reputation. I am passionate about the firm and look forward to the challenge this role will bring.”
Joanna joined Brachers in 1991 as a trainee solicitor and became a Partner in 1999. She has been a member of the management board since 2006.
Despite the testing economic times of recent years Brachers has continued to grow and develop with some excellent strategic recruitment particularly in the Corporate and Commercial, Employment, Private Client, Family and Construction teams – all strong areas for continued expansion.
Included in Brachers’ strategy is the formal launch of Brachers’ own HR consultancy service – Kent HR LLP, enabling them to offer full human resource solutions to a wide variety of clients in the South East.
Along with Joanna, several more promotions have been made within the firm.
Three new Partners are Sarah Webster (Property), Nick Smith (Property) and Colin Smith (Employment).
There are also seven new Associates; Kelly Duke (Private Client), Lee May (Property), Sara Smith (Property), Eleanora Newbery (Family), Richard Thompson (Employment), Dana Ellis (Personal Injury/Healthcare) and Kelly Ratcliffe (Personal Injury/Healthcare).
Joanna added: “We are fortunate to have a highly-skilled, dynamic group of lawyers who all deserve to be rewarded by promotion. We are looking forward to the opportunities to build on the key strengths of the firm as we enter an exciting period of the business.”
