The Visit Kent team will be offering an extra-warm welcome, and the taste of a great Kent Breakfast, at Kent 2020 Vision Live when they unveil their new high spec website promoting the county and its businesses to visitors from home and abroad.
And tourism businesses will be able to work with Visit Kent and add their entries to the new website during the show.
The mobile responsive website, which has been eight months in development, has been designed by award winning web developers Rippleffect with the support of top Lonely Planet travel writer Belinda Dixon.
Sandra Matthews-Marsh, chief executive at Visit Kent, said: “Our website is Kent’s window display and it has to showcase our great county and our tourism businesses to inspire people to visit.
“Thanks to the latest technology we are now able to tell our many stories in different ways and encourage people to create their own Kent chapters to fulfil their own specific tastes, needs and aspirations.
“The fully-interactive website makes it simple for visitors to build their own itineraries to ensure they match their interests while, at the same time, raising their awareness of our many other attractions and destinations so that they are keen to come back for a second, third and fourth visit.”
“Kent has unrivalled heritage in its cathedrals and castles alongside its historic castles and gardens – which everyone wants to visit.
“But today’s independent-minded travellers also want to discover the speciality and even quirky destinations often off the beaten track. And they want fast and easy access to that information at home, in the office and when they are out and about during their visit.
The new highly interactive Visit Kent website has multi-screen adaptability so it works equally well on mobile phones, tablets and full-screen computers.
The dynamic content links attractions, events and accommodation simply and smoothly while integration with social media means everyone is able to benefit from having the latest information and newsflashes at their fingertips to add value to their visit.
Andrew Binns, head of strategy at Rippleffect, said: “We worked with the Visit Kent team to define their audience and this led to us producing a fully-responsive platform that delivers relevant, targeted content to each audience-type.
“We’ve created a user-centric website that meets the varying needs of site visitors and provides them with an amazing and inspirational planning tool for their trip to the county.”
To enjoy the taste of a Kent Breakfast, including Biddenden sparkling apple juice, join the Visit Kent team at 11am in the tourism zone in the John Henry Pavilion, exhibitor number 624, at Kent 2020 Vision Live, Detling, on Thursday, April 25.
Visit Kent experts will be on hand throughout the day to demonstrate their new website, talk to businesses about their tourism business advisory service and training programmes as well as current forthcoming marketing campaigns and opportunities at home and overseas.
