Top Tunbridge Wells Businesses Form Sustainability Collective

A group of corporate businesses in Tunbridge Wells have grouped together to cut through the ‘noise’ about sustainability and make a real difference by learning from and supporting one another. The initiative, named ‘amplifi‘ aims to tap into the collective knowledge and expertise from across different disciplines and sectors to ignite real change together.

Founded by top 100 law firm Cripps and global brand and digital agency Yoyo Design, the group also includes brilliant businesses such as Childrensalon, AXA Health, Handelsbanken and Crowe UK alongside support from Tunbridge Wells Together, the town’s Business Improvement District and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

Pete Kenyon, Partner at Cripps, says: “Due to its size and relative good fortune the business community in Tunbridge Wells is uniquely placed to work together on a number of important subjects. Sustainability has never been more crucial and we felt the time was right for businesses to collaborate and together  drive real positive change amongst our various industries, skills and people. Our collective challenges may sometimes feel insurmountable but to have any chance of heading them off we believe that by working together we can get there better and faster.  Combining knowledge,  experience and energy with direction and focus is a really exciting proposition and is something that we desperately need.”

Jenny Kitchen, CEO of B Corp Certified Yoyo Design, said: “Sustainability has so many different strands to it so to bring together experts from the media & design, legal, finance, accountancy and retail worlds is really empowering for all of us to understand all the ways we can do better both for clients and in our everyday work. From CPD sessions for our combined employees to banding together on community projects to raise money for businesses in the community to sharing insight for respective clients, we have already had some great success and know that this long-term initiative will make a real difference both locally and nationally across all the touchpoints of our respective businesses.”

Cripps and YoYo Design are part of a strong number of Tunbridge Wells based businesses that have thrived in the town and who greatly value being located here. The Business Improvement District (BID) has some 300 professional services businesses within its perimeters that specialise in finance, law, media, design, insurance, property and many other industries that have grown particularly since Covid, while the demand for co-working and flexible office space has exploded with more operators opening throughout 2023 and expected in 2024.

Recent research by the BID found that businesses in Tunbridge Wells credited the green open spaces the top reason to work in the town, alongside the community itself.
