Dartford-based 8point3 has strengthened its team with the appointment of Terry John as Technical Specification Manager.

Terry, from Woolwich Arsenal, South East London, has many years’ experience in technical and specification sales, with a broad range of customers up to board level.

With a track record that includes experience in the lighting sector, he will lead on technical specification for 8point3, which manufactures and installs LED lighting systems, predominantly for industrial and commercial clients.

“LED lighting makes perfect commercial sense for businesses as it brings with it energy savings of up to 80 per cent, cost savings and a reduced carbon footprint,” said Terry.

“More and more businesses are waking up to this and it is a real growth industry. Just as importantly, LED offers the lighting designer a real opportunity to produce innovative schemes to improve the lit environment in a wide range of applications.

“I was impressed with 8point3’s approach which, rather than simply supplying cheap and relatively inefficient tubes to replace the fluorescent variety, sees them manufacture light fittings which cleanly and simply replace a business’s existing lights with a minimum of disruption.

“I am looking forward to working with current and new clients to ensure they get the product they need and enjoy maximum savings and improvements in their lighting schemes.”

Ashley Bateup, Managing Director of 8point3, said: “The addition of Terry to the team emphasises our commitment to providing the best possible service and solutions for our clients.

“We are not content just to replace old fittings with like-for-like replacement tubes and Terry will play a key role in making sure each client benefits from the correct, bespoke solution.”
