The Ashford-based public relations agency will take part in a number of sponsored events throughout the year, with fundraisers varying from monthly dress down days to fun runs and online auctions.

Further to the inaugural Great Quantum Bake Off contest held in December last year, the Quantum team will also use their combined culinary skills to raise money through cake and bun bake sales.

Proceeds will help The Retreat continue to care for sick, injured and unwanted animals. The Ashford-based voluntary rescue centre currently provides veterinary care and shelter for more than 1,000 animals at any one time.

Charlie Vavasour, Managing Director of Quantum PR, said: “We’re looking forward to doing as much as we can in 2014 to raise money for The Retreat and help them fund the much-needed care for all animals they care for.

“We’ll post updates on our fundraising efforts on our website and Twitter throughout the year . If anyone feels our efforts are worthy of a small donation along the way that would be gratefully received.”

Billy Thompson, Founder of The Retreat, said: “We would like to thank everyone at Quantum PR for choosing The Retreat as their charity of the year.  The team and animals are very grateful. We wish them the very best with their fundraising efforts.”

  1. So glad the retreat has been chosen as charity of the year. This is the only charity I support on a monthly basis. Donations are not used to fund the lifestyles of chairman, directors etc it is used to help the many animals taken in when they have nowhere else to go.
