Frozen fruit and vegetable specialist Ardo UK is celebrating after being named the best in its field in the national Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards.
The Charing-based firm was crowned Frozen Food Manufacturing Company of the Year at an awards ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton, London, beating off competition from last year’s winners.
Recognising manufacturing achievements as well as end products, the awards are judged by a panel of independent experts, headed by Paul Wilkinson, Chairman of Improve, the food and drinks skills council.
Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury and Iceland Buying Director Nigel Broadhurst made the presentation to Ardo UK Operations Manager Jim Everest, who said: “I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of Ardo UK.
“This recognises the firm’s dedication to achieving the best in the frozen food industry and our investment in the development of a sustainability culture, which we will continue to promote.”
Ashford’s Premier Foods was also recognised at the awards.
