Investment promotion agency Locate in Kent has added Kent Science Park’s James Speck to its board of directors.
James, who joined the Sittingbourne-based business park as Site Director in December 2007, was appointed to the board at a meeting today (Tuesday, January 22).
He is currently responsible for providing the leadership and direction of his team to ensure the science park achieves its main aim of becoming the best performing site of its kind in the UK.
Along with his new position at Locate in Kent, James has also recently become Commercial Chairman for the Kent Developers Group.
Speaking about his appointment to the Locate in Kent board, James said: “I am a keen supporter of Locate in Kent as they share common goals with Kent Science Park; promoting the county as a business location in the UK and beyond.
“I look forward to sharing my commercial sector experience with the board and hope I can help the agency in its vital work in providing jobs growth and investment across the county.”
“We welcome James to the board,” said Paul Wookey, Chief Executive of Locate in Kent. “He has a considerable understanding of the commercial sector in Kent as well as fresh ideas and enthusiasm, from which we will all benefit from.
“Kent faces stiff competition for inward investment projects, and the support and direction of an experienced and knowledgeable board of directors is vital if Locate in Kent is to continue to build on 15 years of successes which have seen us attract or retain more than 50,000 jobs for the county.”
