Lloyds Banking Group has appointed Esther Dijkstra its new Group Ambassador for the South East of England, where she will lead on supporting social and economic prosperity.
As the region’s new Ambassador, Esther will work alongside a team of experts from across the bank, driving the Group’s purpose of ‘helping Britain prosper’ at a local level to support the businesses and communities it serves.
Through conversations with local politicians, business leaders, networks and charities, Esther will identify opportunities and deliver initiatives that will address the challenges facing the South East to drive socio-economic growth.
Esther’s key area of focus will centre around supporting buyers in the region access affordable and sustainable housing. She will also be championing small businesses and the transition to net zero, as well as leading the conversation around preventing and tackling online fraud.
Esther, who lives in Guildford, has worked for Lloyds Banking Group for the past decade and holds the role of Managing Director of Intermediaries for the Group. With a history of advocating for greater opportunities to access home ownership, she has previously held roles as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Group – maintaining responsibility for Housing Development and Intermediary Experience teams – as well as leading Mortgage Intermediary digital strategy.
Esther said: “Giving a voice to communities that need more affordable housing and supporting businesses to navigate economic change are issues that are very important to me. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the role and working closely with members of our community to help our region build positively into the future.”
