Lincad Manufactures Power System For Railway Information Desks

Lincad is pleased to announce that it has designed a mobile power system that will power interactive information desks, initially for use in train stations across the UK railway network.

The Lincad team has worked with IDEAS, a British company that designs and manufactures counter systems for transaction, information, retail and reception desks to develop a power system comprising an integrated battery and charger system on a trolley.

The power system provides a 230V, 50Hz AC power source to power a range of devices employed on the information desk when mains power is not available. The trolleyed system allows for simple manoeuvrability and allows the system to be moved to a mains power source for recharging when not in use.

The power system is based on high energy density lithium-ion technology that offers excellent performance, tried-and-tested durability and a long-life cycle. Lincad’s engineers have worked alongside the IDEAS team to produce a system designed to fulfil a series of exacting on-site performance requirements.

Peter Slade, Joint Managing Director at Lincad, commented:

“This contract strengthens Lincad’s position as a battery tech company that works across a range of different sectors to offer customers bespoke power management solutions. We are pleased to have been able to work alongside the team at IDEAS in the design of a railway information desk solution, which could be rolled out in train stations across the whole of the UK very soon.”
