The first homes are about to go on sale at a new housing development on a landmark riverside site in Wouldham.

Vistry Group is delivering 142 new homes at Bridgeside Walk, which is part of the wider Peters Village development on the banks of the River Medway.

Bridgeside Walk, which is to be built under Vistry’s Linden Homes brand, will feature a mix of houses and four-storey apartment blocks on a 5.46-acre site off Village Road.

There will be a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties, including 113 for private sale and 29 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.

Millie Groves, marketing manager for Vistry Kent, said: “Construction work is progressing well and we are now preparing to release the first new homes for sale at Bridgeside Walk. This will be a collection of new homes in a truly stunning setting on the banks of the River Medway.

“Bridgeside Walk will form a visually striking and distinctive gateway to the wider Peters Village development. The mix of houses and apartments facing the river will feature boarding and a range of tiles and bricks to add variety to the street scene. Urban squares will be created to provide public open space within the development while residents will also have access to the riverside walkway which runs along the Medway.

“Vistry Kent is proud to be playing a key role in this ambitious scheme to regenerate a former cement works in Wouldham and transform it into a vibrant new community.”

Peters Village is a wider development of around 1,000 homes being built on the 200-acre former Peters Wouldham Hall Cement Works site. The plans also include a new primary school, medical centre, shops, a community hall, sports fields and a nature reserve looked after by the Kent Wildlife Trust.

Vistry is also building 119 new homes under its Bovis Homes brand at Peters Village. The Osprey Rise development features a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses and two-bedroom apartments.

Millie said: “There has been a high level of demand for the homes at Osprey Rise and we are expecting to see something similar at Bridgeside Walk. With more and more people settling into their new homes at Peters Village, a true sense of community is beginning to take root among the new residents.”
