DigiTom’s Charity Of The Year

DIGITOM

For the second consecutive year, as part of our corporate social responsibility, we have decided to show our support for Nourish Community Food Bank, volunteering our services to produce a series of campaign videos for the charity.

The Tunbridge Wells based organisation delivers more than 130 weekly food parcels to clients across the borough. It’s run by just one full-time and a few part-time staff, supported by an army of 70+ volunteers.

Demand for its services have more than doubled since the Covid-19 pandemic, fuelled by the cost of living crisis and people’s rocketing energy bills. At the same time the charity has seen a drop in donations as society feels its pockets being squeezed going into winter.

“I’m really pleased that we can support another worthy cause this year and help create a campaign that will hopefully make a difference. I’m not sure why a developed country has seen such a large growth in the demand for food banks the last decade, but I hope we can do some good to help those in need.” said Founder & Creative Director Tom Chown.

Each anonymous film is based upon a true story, with a voiceover sharing their experiences and filmed at the Nourish warehouse in Kingstanding Way. Operations Director Dawn Stanford, BEM said.

“Nourish Community Foodbank simply couldn’t do what we do without the support of our local community. The effort that the team at Digitom put into producing these videos has been remarkable. They came and spent time with us to really get under the skin of what our service users go through and to hear the true stories featured in these three campaigns. The videos they have produced for us will shine a light on the reality of living in food crisis and we are so grateful for their help.”
