Callum Griffiths, from Stone, Dartford, has been named the Most Promising Apprentice (Level 2-3) at the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) Southern Annual Lunch & Awards event, held at The Brewery in London.

He received the accolade for his exceptional performance and career progression since joining The Clancy Group in September 2021 and was one of six young people recognised at the CECA Southern event in London for their achievements.

Callum has been working within the civils team at Clancy since the start of his apprenticeship in September 2021, when he was quickly recognised as a very hardworking individual, always eager to learn. He rose to every challenge and quickly learned the intricacies of each project role, as well as keeping safety a priority.

Callum was also nominated and shortlisted for the Clancy Energy Employee of the Year in 2022.

Samantha Barratt, CECA Southern Chair, commented: “Throughout his time with Clancy, Callum has proven himself to be a genuinely hardworking individual and is a huge asset to the sites with his great work ethic, strong communication and a team spirit.

“Our industry needs to encourage and attract talented young people like Callum to help the UK build the infrastructure we need to create a low carbon, sustainable economy.”

The CECA Southern Lunch & Awards are presented annually in recognition of exceptional performance, with each winner receiving a trophy and cheque for £500.
