West Malling based housebuilder Bellway Kent has pledged £4,000 to support local charity Heart of Kent Hospice.
The money was donated after the developer discovered more about the work that the charity does to support over 1,300 families in the Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge and Malling areas, as well as the surrounding villages.
Mark Harrop, Sales Director for Bellway Kent, said: “When we were approached by the Heart of Kent Hospice and discovered the work they do in the area, we knew we wanted to help in any way we could.
“We really hope that the money we donated goes some way towards helping the hospice continue its valuable work for local people.”
Erica Snow, Community and Events Fundraising Manager for Heart of Kent Hospice, said: “We are very grateful to Bellway Kent for their generous sponsorship.
“We used the cash to cover the majority of the costs for our Bluebell Walk event, and it helped us to increase the amount we raised. The funds raised go directly towards providing specialist end of life care for local people with a terminal illness and support for their families.”
