Law firm Cripps has achieved excellent rankings in the 2017 edition of the Legal 500 and has once again been recognised as one of the South East’s leading law firms.
The guide, which carries out detailed research and analyses the capabilities and strengths of law firms in the UK, has ranked Cripps as top tier in the South East in eleven specialist practice areas across corporate, real estate and private client. The firm is also recognised in the top tier for its expertise in London commercial property (retail).
In total, Cripps is recommended in 24 practice areas in the South East and four in London. In addition, four of its lawyers – James Beatton, Simon Leney, Miles Paffard and Philip Youdan – are listed as leading UK lawyers in their field. In a new category for this year, five individuals have been highlighted as ‘next generation lawyers’ and a further 36 lawyers are also recommended for expertise in their respective areas.

Extracts from the editorial praise the commercial property team who ‘go above and beyond what is required’, the ‘pragmatic and responsive’ insolvency team and the ‘highly responsive’ banking and finance team, which is recognised for its ‘deep knowledge of various sectors and local business drivers’. The strength of the firm’s private client team was also highlighted with clients commenting that Cripps ‘manages to combine being a commercial outfit while still delivering a very personal and individual service’.
