Tudor Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Bearsted is making the most of its beautiful surroundings by launching a new outdoor meeting concept.
From now until the end of summer, businesses can choose to either spend their entire meeting outdoors (weather permitting) or hold picnic refreshment breaks to revitalise delegates in between conference sessions.
Its marketing team has invested in giant outdoor games such as Jenga and snakes & ladders for team building activities, and picnic blankets for breakout sessions. Its chefs have created special picnic menus and revitalising fruit drinks, and the hotel’s fairy-tale gazebo, used for wedding ceremonies, has electric points to allow the modern technology of a meeting to be brought outside.
“It has been proven that being outdoors can energise you and reduce stress levels, so why not hold meetings outside if we are lucky enough to get good weather?” says Natalee Moona, Tudor Park’s senior events manager. “We believe taking a meeting outdoors will unleash creativity and lead to productive and memorable events. There are probably nearly 100 ways you could have a meeting here at Tudor Park and utilising our lovely grounds with views of the 18-hole golf course is just one of them.”
The full day outdoor concept is for small business meetings of around 12 people. They will be assigned their own personal fixer, a Red Coat, who can be summoned via a mobile app to bring extra supplies or sort any technological issues. The one thing the Red Coats won’t be able to fix is the weather, but all outdoor experience meetings will have a `Plan B’ – an indoor room alternative in case it rains.
*Members of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce will get to try Tudor Park’s outdoor experience when the four-star hotel hosts an Afternoon Tea Networking Event on July 5.
