Law Firm Director Will Sleep Rough To Raise Funds For Homelessness Charity

Centrepoint-sleepout

The Finance Director of South East law firm Furley Page will take part in Centrepoint’s Sleep Out this February to raise money to support young homeless people.

On 23 February 2024, Malcolm Twyman will join around 100 others who will sleep rough on the streets of London for a night to raise money and awareness for Centrepoint.

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading charity for homeless young people, helping to provide them with somewhere safe to live, alongside counselling and advice, so they can start to rebuild their lives. Sleep Out is one of Centrepoint’s flagship fundraising initiatives, which helps to raise funds to combat homelessness, contributing towards the charity’s aim to end youth homelessness by 2037. The challenge involves individuals, groups and organisations who spend a night without their bed to raise money and awareness of rough sleeping and homelessness.

Malcolm Twyman, Director of Finance and Risk at Furley Page, said: “Unfortunately, there are many young people who, through no fault of their own, are having to spend the winter on the streets. Sadly, many young people don’t get the best start in life and Centrepoint’s work gives them choices and options, helping to break the cycle that put them on the streets in the first place and hopefully giving them a better chance for the future.

“To help in some small way I am joining the “Centrepoint Sleep Out” and will be sleeping rough for a night on the streets of London. The challenge will help me to understand some of the realities that homeless young people face and raise funds for this worthy cause. To be honest, I’m not looking forward to it, but I don’t think I am supposed to!”

Furley Page staff regularly participate in community initiatives and charity fundraising through the Furley Page Foundation, a registered charity responsible for managing all social responsibility programmes of Furley Page law firm.
