HYTHE PROJECT MANAGER SEALS HIS EXCELLENCE AT MARTLELO LAKES

BARRATT-HOMESHYTHE resident, Glenn Day, has won the much sought after National House Building Council (NHBC) Seal of Excellence Award, putting him among the best 100 Site Managers in the UK. This follows Glenn’s previous success, having picked up seven Pride in the Job Quality Awards. Glenn who is project manager at Barratt Homes’ Martello Lakes development on Dymchurch Road, was recognised for his commitment to safety standards and delivering the highest quality in housebuilding.

Glenn, who has worked in the construction industry for 32 years, received the award for the South-East region last Friday (28th October 2016) at the Hilton Brighton Metropole. Steve Catt, NHBC Regional Director addressed an audience of 340 industry colleagues and announced the Seal of Excellence and Regional Winners for 2016.

Seal of Excellence Awards are presented to the top site managers in each region, selected from the Pride in the Job Quality Award winners. The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry and have been instrumental in driving up new homes standards for 35 years. Following initial nominations by the NHBC inspection teams, they are awarded after a series of judging inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.

Glenn says: “It’s a dream come true to win the Seal of Excellence title, after having achieved seven previous NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. At each stage of the build at Martello Lakes we strive to ensure that everything we do is 100%. As part of the awards process we have been carefully monitored by the NHBC and so this recognition not only reflects on the team, but on the homes we are building.”

Glenn and his team should be extremely proud of the outstanding work they undertake at Martello Lakes, and I am delighted this has now been recognised at a national level. It is work like this that helps ensure Barratt continues to be a 5-star rated housebuilder.”
