Cripps has received national recognition for its expertise in supporting GP practices.
The law firm is one of three finalists in the General Practice Awards 2016 Legal Team of the Year category. This recognises those who have provided outstanding up-to-the-minute advice to help GPs negotiate new policy and the daily rigours of running a practice.
Cripps’ healthcare team has 25 specialists who between them cover corporate, commercial, regulatory, dispute resolution, employment and real estate issues.
Nick Austen, head of the healthcare team, said: “To be ranked as one of the country’s top three providers of legal services to GPs is a fantastic achievement and builds on our growing national reputation in this field.”
Cripps is shortlisted alongside two London-based law firms, Capsticks and Hempsons. The winners will be announced in a ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel on November 24th.
As well as GP practices the team counts nine federations and primary care organisations as clients, and advises dentists, pharmacies and care homes. The expertise of the Cripps team was also highlighted at the recent (19 October) Best Practice Show, where partner Justin Cumberlege presented a seminar titled ‘Super-partnership or federation? What are the legal pros and cons?’.
According to the Chambers guide to law firms, Cripps has an in-depth knowledge of the healthcare sector, while Legal 500 describes the firm as “a key name for transactions of pharmacy and dental businesses”.
Cripps’ Tunbridge Wells offices will shortly move into new, purpose built premises, the largest office building to have been built in the town for more than 25 years. With over 350 staff Cripps is one of the town’s largest employers.
Cripps has offices in Tunbridge Wells, Kings Hill, London and Sandwich.
