GREENHITHE AND HOLLINGBOURNE DEVELOPER AWARDED TOP NATIONAL AWARD FOR QUALITY HOUSEBUILDING

Fernham-Pride-in-the-Job

Senior Project Managers Lee Bates (38) and Simon Bettridge (35) have both been chosen to receive revered Pride in the Job Quality Awards by the National House Building Council (NHBC), for their new homes’ developments in Kent. Lee has been recognised for his work at Fernham Homes’ Empire Park development in Greenhithe, whilst Simon has been acknowledged for his work at the Tonbridge-based housebuilder’s Ellesmere development in Hollingbourne.

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards only recognises sites which are run to the highest possible standards and are consistently delivering new homes of outstanding quality. It is the most prestigious award that a Project Manager can hope to achieve and shows the commitment of both Lee and Simon, as well as AB Canham (Fernham Homes’ sister company) who are the builders of these award winning homes, to excellence in construction and making customer satisfaction a top priority.

The quality of the new homes at Empire Park is evident not only through this award but is also confirmed by Lee’s decision to choose the development as his family home. Lee comments: “I am so pleased to have won this award for the second year running, the work that goes into ensuring we are building these homes to the very best standard is definitely a team effort, so it feels great for our hard work to be recognised. Having moved into my new home at the development, I am happy to report the level of build quality is excellent!”

Simon, who also lives locally in Chatham, comments: “It is an honour to be recognised for the work that we put in to make sure the homes at Ellesmere are of excellent quality. I’d like to thank the whole team that work tirelessly, we are very proud of the homes we deliver.”

This year, there were around 11,000 applicants and just 450 individuals were selected to receive this award of which two came from AB Canham, demonstrating the housebuilder’s dedication to providing high-quality homes to local communities.

Lynne Smith, Director of Sales and Marketing for Fernham Homes, added: “For two of our sites in Kent to have received awards is something we are extremely proud of. We would like to congratulate both Lee and Simon and their teams for their hard work. Only the best sites are considered for the Pride in the Job Quality Awards and are subject to rigorous assessment, so this really illustrates the excellent work that is being done, and the standard of the homes being built.”

Founded in 1997 by Ian Fern and Michael Canham and later joined by David Masters, the company has been building homes throughout Kent for over 20 years. Fernham Homes is now marketing a range of distinctive developments in locations including Orpington, Boughton Monchelsea, Hollingbourne, Greenhithe and Westerham, and is also preparing to launch an innovative bespoke homes scheme in Linton Hill, near Maidstone later this summer. Together with new Development Director Chris Loughead, the housebuilder hopes to achieve its ambitious growth plans and bring new sites into the business, across its Kent heartland, as well as in East Sussex and Greater London. This month, Fernham has also gained Outline Planning Permission for 45 new homes, including 18 affordable homes, in the village of Matfield, near Royal Tunbridge Wells.
