Hundreds of people will join the Pilgrims Hospices’ annual ‘A Night to Shine’ event this September to raise vital funds for local hospice care.

A Night to Shine will see people of all ages take part in five-mile night-time walks across east Kent, while illuminating the route with a sea of shining light.

Events will take place simultaneously in Canterbury, Ashford and Broadstairs on Friday 20 September at 7pm

The event is sponsored by The Furley Page Foundation, a registered charity created to manage the social responsibility programmes of leading Kent law firm Furley Page.

Furley Page Foundation Trustee Aaron Spencer, a Partner at Furley Page, said: “The Pilgrims Hospices is east Kent’s largest hospice charity, providing vital support for many people facing terminal illness.

“We are delighted to sponsor the event for the third year running. A Night to Shine is always a fantastic occasion with a friendly party atmosphere and we’re looking forward to doing our bit to help raise funds for such a worthy cause. We’d urge anyone who can get involved in this years’ sponsored walks to do so and enjoy a very memorable evening.”

The five-mile Night to Shine walks will start from the following venues:

  • Julie Rose Stadium, Willesborough Road, Ashford TN24 9QX
  • The Pavilion, Harbour Street, Broadstairs CT10 1EU
  • Canterbury College, New Dover Road, Canterbury CT1 3AJ

Leila Ilkhan at Pilgrims Hospices, said: “This year’s A Night to Shine is set to be bigger and brighter than ever. Whether you walk for fun, fitness or in memory of a loved one, we hope as many people as possible will come together to raise the funds that will help us be there for the next family that needs us.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Furley Page Foundation for continuing to support the work of Pilgrims Hospices. This support helps us to cover the costs of the event, enabling more money raised on the night to go towards the care of our patients and their families across east Kent.”
