The FSB and Kent County Council are inviting local companies to free advice and training sessions at the Marsh Million Business Week this June.
‘We’re very excited about what we are offering start ups and local businesses,’ says Bill Fox, South Kent FSB Chairman and owner of the Kent Business Academy.
‘There is lots of information and advice available, but unless you know where to look and have the time to search, it can be pretty hard to find it. That’s why the FSB in partnership with Kent County Council are running free sessions over four days, from one place.
‘Guests will be able to talk to experts about getting the most from social media, to writing business plans, getting your business fit to export and how to finance their ideas.’
Over half a million people took the step to start their own business in 2013; a UK record which looks likely to be beaten this year. Over 70% of new businesses are started from home. In doing so, business owners are educating the next generation of entrepreneurs, and spending more time and money in their local economy. They are generating wealth, without being a burden on the public purse.
In Kent, according to a recent survey of FSB members, business prospects for SMEs are looking positive with 90% confirming their prospects are about the same or better than six months ago.
The Marsh Million Business Week will arm business owners with the advice and information needed to keep their businesses fighting fit.
The sessions will run from the newly-opened MACH business hub at The Marsh Academy. All small local businesses are welcome.
