A leading home care provider that supports elderly and vulnerable people across Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells has celebrated its fifth anniversary with a special event to reward its hard-working Care Assistants and valued customers.
Bluebird Care Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells hosted the Customer Afternoon Tea at St Mark’s Church Hall in Tunbridge Wells on Saturday 1st July. The Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, Councillor Julia Soyke, joined more than 30 customers, carers and their families at the event to mark the company’s five year anniversary, where they were treated to afternoon tea, as well as activities including bingo and dancing.
Councillor Soyke, who attended the event as the guest of honour, said: “This is one of the early events in my time as mayor and it has been a fantastic afternoon. From learning about the type of support Bluebird Care provides, it is exactly the way I would like to be supported if I ever needed it – in my own home.”
Claire Stanley, Care Manager at Bluebird Care Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, said: “We are very happy with how the last five years have gone as we have been successful in bringing quality home care provision to vulnerable adults across the area. We provide regular customer events as part of our service and the afternoon tea was a roaring success. We were thrilled that so many of our valued customers were able to enjoy our event, as we wanted to celebrate this fantastic milestone with them.”
Bluebird Care Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells has been operating in the area since 2012. In the past year, the company has provided more than 100,000 hours of care to customers across Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells to support them to live independently at home.
The care team supports elderly and vulnerable adults with a variety of additional care needs that make living alone difficult, from short-term care after an injury or illness, to long-term care and support and 24 hour live-in care.
Terry Watson, a customer of Bluebird Care Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells who attended the event, said: “Home care from Bluebird Care has really changed my life, as I need help with everyday chores like cooking and cleaning, as well as dressing and washing. I am confined to a wheelchair due to an illness I contracted as a youth player for West Ham football club. Without regular visits from care assistants I would have to move to a residential care home.
“The support I receive is invaluable as it has helped me to feel comfortable and confident that I can continue to live independently.”
