SHINY NEW STORES ARRIVING AT THE MALL MAIDSTONE

The-Works-MAIDSTONETwo exciting store changes are taking place at The Mall Maidstone this summer, as Britain’s top family friendly discount store The Works get set to open and Poundland expand their store at the shopping centre.

Offering huge savings of up to 80%, The Works will be bringing their wide range of books, toys, DVDs, stationery, art & craft supplies and much more to The Mall later this summer, located by H.Samuel on the upper level. The new store opening sees the return of The Works to the town, after their previous store was closed following the Week Street fire in June 2015.

As part of the shopping centre’s refurbishment works, Poundland is also having a complete shop refit and will be extending to the unit next door, increasing by almost half of its current floor space. Thanks to the expansion, shoppers will be able to find more bargains at the popular store, which stocks groceries, toiletries, cleaning products and more, all for just £1.

The expansion is also the first of many moves in the centre, with each retailer relocating to the unit next to them, starting with Poundand’s neighbour M&J Luggage.

Poundland-MAIDSTONESuzie Brindle, Marketing Manager at The Mall Maidstone, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming The Works to The Mall Maidstone, and a brand new store for Poundland too. There’s lots of exciting changes taking place, and we’re sure both new stores will be hugely popular with our shoppers.”

Retailer Assets Manager Gareth Holland said: “With the extensive refurbishment of The Mall, Maidstone almost complete, Poundland have exchanged an agreement to upsize and refurbish their existing store within The Mall to create a unit of almost 10,000sqft. The new store should be open almost simultaneously with the opening of the new 30,000sqft TJ Hughes store. The refurbishment will be fully completed by the end of September when further new lettings will be announced.”
