POPULAR ANNUAL EMPLOYMENT LAW WORKSHOP RETURNS

Leading regional law firm Furley Page is hosting a workshop to provide business leaders and HR professionals in Kent the opportunity to gain vital insights into the latest changes in employment law.

The firm’s employment law specialists will present the popular annual Employment Law Update 2019-20 workshop on Wednesday 16 October at the Holiday Inn Rochester in Chatham.

Run in conjunction with Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, the workshop is open to Chamber members and non-members whatever the size of their workforce.

The workshop will cover a range of subjects including current developments in employment law, practical guidance on how to prepare for any forthcoming changes, key dates for employment law reform, and the effects on HR policies, procedures and people management. The session will also include a round-up of recent employment law cases to provide real-world examples, as well as plenty of opportunity for questions and answers.

Andrew Masters, Partner and Head of Employment, at Furley Page, leads the delivery of the employment workshops. He said: “These workshops are always very popular as they provide employers and HR professionals with the latest insights in the complex area of employment law, helping businesses to prepare for and implement any changes.

“The sessions are interactive, with plenty of opportunity for questions and answers throughout, so delegates can discuss areas that are of interest to their organisation. Given that we’re holding the workshop a fortnight before the UK is scheduled to leave the EU, I think it’s safe to assume that there may be a few questions about Brexit which we’ll endeavour to answer!”

Andrew will be joined by employment law specialists Amanda Okill and Tessa Robinson, who are both part of Furley Page’s highly regarded Employment Team, which is recommended by the independent legal guides Chambers UK and The Legal 500

Registration is from 8am, and the event runs from 8.30am until noon. Workshop costs, including bacon rolls (or vegetarian alternative) and refreshments, are £75 (inc VAT) to Kent Invicta Chamber members and £95 (inc VAT) to non-members.
