The event website, www.mykentbigweekend.co.uk, is staying open for business until midnight on Monday, March 18, for returned and unclaimed tickets to be snapped up.
Sandra Matthews-Marsh, chief executive at Visit Kent which organises the annual celebration of the county’s tourism industry, said:
“It’s been a record year with 92,000 applications for the 17,000 free tickets to more than 123 attractions on offer. So we know lots of people have been disappointed.
“However, some people who won tickets in the ballots are now unable to take advantage of them because other engagements have come up.
“We hope everyone will return any spare tickets to the website so that other Kent residents can download them and enjoy a My Kent Big Weekend treat.
“So, if you did not win any tickets in the ballots to join in all the activities on March 23 – 24 and the grand finale to English Tourism Week, it’s worth keeping an eye on the website to see which free tickets become available.”
Everyone heading out to My Kent Big Weekend events and destinations is being encouraged to take along their camera ready to enter the People and Places photo competitions. For information about how to enter and all the prizes on offer, go to www.mykentbigweekend.co.uk
