Kent Science Park employees had a devilishly good time at a Halloween themed charity quiz night hosted by the park on the 1st November, which raised almost £200 for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. Taking place at The Woodstock Club, the event was open to both Kent Science Park tenants and Sittingbourne locals.
Attended by witches, vampires and zombies, and hosted by Batman’s arch-nemesis The Riddler, the quiz itself was eventually won by the team “Don’t Pay the Ferryman”, made up from employees from Concur, an integrated travel and expense management company based on Kent Science Park. Everyone donated a minimum of £2 each to take part in the quiz and there were also additional opportunities for people to donate throughout the evening, including several games of “Heads and Tails”.
Babs Knott, Site Administrator at Kent Science Park helped to arrange the evening. She spoke about the quiz and the money that was raised:
“I was delighted to see so many people came along to take part in the quiz, as it’s for such a worthwhile cause. Kent Science Park has hosted a series of activities and events throughout the year to raise money for Demelza – our charity partner for 2012. The work that Demelza do is incredible and we want to do anything we can to support them and raise awareness.”
“It was good to see so much competition between the teams, as it made the evening even more enjoyable. It was also wonderful to see the effort put into getting into the Halloween spirit and coming along in costumes! As the quiz night went so well, we will be arranging another one for the New Year, so watch this space!”
