KENT ACCOUNTANCY FIRM SECURES NEW OFFICE SPACE

A family-run accountancy firm has invested in a new office space in Kent after securing six figure bank funding.

Founder of Simon and Co Accountancy, Simon Wahab has used a funding package from NatWest to purchase the premises on Orpington High Street, following increased turnover and demand for his accountancy services.

The new space will provide a more modern and ergonomic office space that allows his colleagues to work over one floor, in a bid to create a more positive and collaborative working environment for the team.

Founded in 2013, Simon and Co Accountancy is a full-service professional accountancy firm providing compliance and advisory services to small to medium sized businesses. The firm specialises in helping start-up businesses achieve their ambitions by managing accounts and offering straight forward and jargon-free advice.

The firm has continued to increase turnover year on year, with a rise of 21% from 2018 into 2019. It currently operates with six members of staff including his nephews, Jay Latif, 32 and Junaid Miah, 19.

After graduating in 2003 from the University of East London, Simon quickly qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant, working in practice until setting up his own business over five years ago.

Simon said: “As a small business, we understand the difficulties start-up businesses can face and we pride ourselves on offering straight talking, honest advice that avoids confusing jargon. For me, being an accountant is made up of two parts; telling people what tax they need to pay, which isn’t so nice, and listening to businesses’ hopes and dreams and helping them to achieve them, which is the nicer part of the job.

“NatWest has been fundamental in helping us secure an office space that creates a much more welcoming and practical environment where we hope clients will feel more at home when sharing their business goals with us, as well as creating a positive working environment for my team.”

The deal was managed by Greg Lewis, Relationship Manager at NatWest after being referred by Luke Pamflett, Business Growth Enabler at NatWest.

Greg Lewis, Relationship Manager at NatWest, said: “Simon is extremely passionate about helping small businesses thrive by taking away the stress of managing accounts. The client testimonials speak for themselves and this new office space will help the team flourish as they continue helping small businesses to achieve their goals.”
