A drive to recruit sales assistants and specialist advisers to work at the new John Lewis at home Ashford started today.
The retailer is on the hunt for around 125 new Partners (staff) to fill a variety of roles, including sales assistants, specialist advisers and catering professionals.
The shop, located on a site close to junction 9 of the M20 in Kent, is John Lewis’s tenth at home and is due to open before the end of 2013, focusing on furniture, furnishing accessories, electrical and home technology. To allow customers to access and order a wider John Lewis assortment from johnlewis.com, customer online ordering points will be located throughout the shop and customers will also be able to use the free John Lewis Click and Collect service.
Rebekah Hawley, personnel growth manager, at John Lewis is coordinating the recruitment process. She commented: “We are looking for hardworking people who can use their own initiative and are eager to work within a team and appreciate the importance of great customer service. Making sure that customers enjoy their experience and are satisfied with the service they receive is a key priority for John Lewis. There are a broad range of roles available and we offer both full and part-time contacts.”
In return, Partners will become a part of John Lewis’s unique Partnership structure, meaning they are all co-owners of the business, as well as receive a host of benefits, including the annual bonus, access to holiday and leisure facilities, education and career development support.
Glynis Gunning-Stevenson, branch manager, John Lewis at home Ashford, said: “I’ve been with the John Lewis Partnership for over ten years and have found it a really stimulating and rewarding environment to work within. As a business we are committed to recruiting locally and I’m confident that our recruitment team will select a strong group of individuals to help launch our at home shop to the people of Ashford.”
The John Lewis recruitment team is committed to training all new Partners to achieve the highest level of customer service and build upon John Lewis’s established reputation as one of Britain’s favourite retailers.
